I am delighted to be home and humbled by the warm reception I received at Mogadishu airport, as reported by the Somali news channel Goobjoog. The support shown by the people was overwhelming, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to all those who welcomed me. The groundswell of encouragement I have felt throughout Somalia has been nothing short of inspiring, and it reinforces my belief that the time for change has come.

It is clear that Somalia is at a pivotal moment. The people are ready for progress and transformation. However, as I stand before you, I recognise that the journey ahead is not one of mere optimism, but one of determination, hard work, and action. We cannot afford to wait any longer. Somalia has been longing for a fresh direction, one that truly serves the needs of its people. I am deeply committed to being part of that change.

As reported by Goobjoog, the reception was not just a personal one but also a reflection of the hope shared by many across the country. People from all walks of life have been expressing their frustrations with the status quo, and they are ready for leadership that understands their struggles. This moment is not just about me returning home – it is about all of us taking our country forward. It is about empowering every Somali citizen, ensuring that their voice is heard and their needs addressed.

We must remember that the progress we seek cannot be achieved by words alone – it will take action. We are tasked with creating a future that reflects the values and aspirations of the Somali people. Our actions today will determine the path we take tomorrow.

The road ahead will not be easy, but together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Somalia. Let us now go to work. The change that is long overdue must be our collective effort, and I stand ready to work with every Somali to see it through.
