A true leader is someone who safeguards the treasures that God has entrusted to us, including the beauty of nature and the dignity of all living beings. I am proud to have been born in Africa, a continent rich with remarkable wildlife and extraordinary landscapes, a place that is as much a treasure as it is a home.

It is often said that the eyes of an animal possess the ability to speak a profound language, one that transcends words and speaks to the soul. The way a nation treats its animals reflects its greatness and moral progress. It reveals the true character of a society, showing how deeply we value compassion and kindness.

True human goodness shines through in its most pure and unselfish form when it extends to those who have no power, those who are vulnerable. The fundamental moral test for humanity lies in how we treat those who are at our mercy, and this includes all living beings, especially animals. We are judged not by the power we hold, but by how we care for those who cannot speak for themselves.

As the Lion of Africa, I am honoured by the title, yet I know it is not a title I bear alone. It is a responsibility, a mandate to protect my homeland, my people, and the rich heritage that has been entrusted to us. I am committed to ensuring that Somalia, with all its beauty and resources, thrives for future generations. I will always stand as the protector of Somalia – our culture, our wildlife, and the natural wonders that make our land unique.
