Former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has violated the Somali Constitution by refusing to hold the presidential election scheduled for February 8. His deliberate defiance undermines the rule of law and puts countless Somali lives at risk. In Mogadishu, innocent civilians have already died as Farmajo continues to suppress the demand for democracy through force.

We cannot remain passive while his actions destabilize our nation. It is crucial to denounce the foreign forces backing his illegitimate regime, particularly the Turkish military and the Qatari government. These external interventions only prolong the suffering of the Somali people and threaten the country’s future. The time for change is now.
