The situation in Somalia under President Hassan Sheikh’s administration from May 2022 to May 2024 paints a grim picture. The country’s security continues to deteriorate, and this is not merely a recent development. The roots of Somalia’s instability extend far beyond his time in office, tracing back to the scars left by the civil war. Unfortunately, the mismanagement and poor leadership that have plagued Somalia for decades are still evident today.

Since 2019, I have voiced my concerns about Somalia’s fragile security and governance. Despite raising these issues, it is clear that no substantial measures have been put in place to address the core problems facing our country. The lack of action is not only disheartening but also catastrophic for the people of Somalia, who continue to live under the constant threat of violence, displacement, and poverty.

We are in dire need of strong, resilient leaders who are committed to tackling the many challenges Somalia faces. This is not a time for complacency but for urgent and effective leadership that can work to rebuild our institutions and secure peace for the future. As a nation, we must rise above the failures of the past and work together to create a brighter tomorrow.

It is painful to read articles that highlight the harsh realities on the ground. However, they also serve as a stark reminder of why we must not give up hope. Despite the challenges, we must hold on to the belief that peace, security, and prosperity are within reach. The road ahead will be difficult, but through unity, determination, and accountable leadership, Somalia can move forward.
